WoodinvilleRealEstate.net belongs to a client who, you may have guesses, works as a real estate agent in Woodinville. Nowadays, most real estate brokerages have vendors they work with to provide websites for their agents. The problem for some is, they all end up with subdomain-type websites. Not sure what that is? Don’t worry, I’ll explain…
In this case, Jen got a website URL through her brokerage, it looks like this: http://www.jenhaldi.johnlscott.com/jls/
Some other agent’s website will look similar, as in: www.agentname.johnlscott.com/jls.
From a company standpoint, that’s easier to manage. From their vendor standpoint, it’s easy to maintain all those subdomains on the same webhost via the johnlscott.com domain.
From a search engine optimization standpoint…well, I don’t want to say it sucks, but it’s less than ideal.
So, Jen bought a domain that should help her pick up some free traffic by way of search engine optimization for the keyword term: Woodinville Real Estate. We built her a WordPress version of her existing site – and funnel that traffic back to her JLS site so that all of her existing lead capturing efforts will still work.
This site happens to be mobile friendly, which is a bigger deal since Google’s mobile friendly update in April of 2015. As I write this, the brokerage sites have yet to be updated, which means they DON’T show up in search results for mobile devices.
Lucky for Jen, her site does…
Up next, we’ll be working on expanding her web presence by way of crucial social media sites and links for local websites. She’ll have a Facebook page, Twitter, LinkedIn page, Google+, etc. We’ll also look at her listings in: Google My Business, Bing Places for Business, and Yahoo Local Listings.Go to website
